Q. What materials do I need to participate in a 6 Week Journey small group?

A. Each participant just needs their own copy of the How’s Your Soul? study guide that can be purchased at our campuses for $7 beginning January 1st or at online at Amazon or at other various online retailers like, Barnes and or

Q. Can I use the How’s Your Soul? book to participate in my small group rather than the Study Guide?

A. The How’s Your Soul? book is recommended but not required reading for the small group. As a small group participant you just need the study guide.

Q. When do the 6 Week Journey groups start?

A. Pastor Judah will begin to teach the series on Sunday, January 29th in Seattle and Guadalajara and on Wednesday, January 25th in LA, so most groups will begin that week in homes, coffee shops and offices around our community

Q. Are The City Church campuses open for small groups to meet during the week?

A. Our Kirkland campus café is open Monday through Thursday from 6pm to 9pm and is available for groups on a first come, first served basis. No private rooms or audio/visual are provided. If interested submit this online form:

Q. What is the general format of a 6 Week Journey small group?

A. Each host might do it a little differently but the basic format will be to gather to watch a short 10 to 20-minute video for each session and go over discussion questions that are provided in the study guide.   The total time allotted should be about 1.5 to 2 hours total, including time to talk and get to know one another.

Q. How can I find a 6 Week Journey group to attend?

A. An online list of available groups can be accessed here or our team can help you in person on Sunday or Wednesday in the main lobby before or after service

Q. Can anyone host a 6 Week Journey group?

A. Yes, if you are a part of our City Church community, go to and let us know you are hosting a group by entering it on our online directory. Click on Start or Edit Group (if this is your first time to add a group to our directory you will have to first create an account), fill in the information and submit. An administrator will contact you as soon as your group is live.

Q. Will the church fill my group for me if I enter it on the online directory?

A. People will have the ability to contact you by way of the groups directory for information on joining your group but we always suggest that you invite friends, family, co-workers and neighbors to join you as well

Q. I’ve never hosted a group before. Is there any training available?

A. Yes! We have Group Host Trainings available at all of our campuses.

Downtown: January 8th at 10:30am, January 15th at 12:00pm, & January 22nd at 10:30am. Free study guides to those who attend.

U-District: January 8th at 7pm and January 15th at 8:30pm

LA: Immediately follow the gathering on January 18th and 25th.

Guadalajara: January 15th and 22nd at 2:30.

Q. Where can I find the weekly videos?

A. The How’s Your Soul? videos can be streamed here free of charge to our City Church community. Each video will be available for a three-week window only. DVD sets can be purchased as well in our campus bookstores for $20 or online.

Q. What is the 6-Week Journey House Party?

A. The 6-Week Journey House Party is a special night for our whole community to gather to hear from Pastor Judah right before we start this year’s 6 Week Journey. This night will be live streamed from our Kirkland campus to all of our other locations. You will be able to find a group to join, buy materials, and also get trained to host a group if you feel so inspired after hearing his message!
